How many of you stress over which classes to take, grades achieved, and school success? It is very common to allow school to take over your self value because it is a major part of your day. Everyone is comparing each other and that can be overwhelming. Below are things to think about when you get anxious and doubt yourself.
The only responsibility you have is to try your best. Do your homework, listen in class, and study. There will be subjects you are good in and ones you struggle. That is the case for everyone.
Class choice needs to be based on what you are interested in. If you have a hard time with a subject or are uninterested in a class, do not take a harder level. Utilize that rigor for subjects that interest you.
You receive a bad grade. This is an opportunity for learning. If you worked hard and this was your best, then be proud. If you did not work hard enough and that was the grade deserved, then learn from this and study more next time.
Tutoring is a great opportunity to have a one- on- one person that can teach you in a way that you understand. School teachers teach to the masses and do not always utilize all strategies for each learner. Some students think needing a tutor means they are not smart. In all honesty finding a tutor that can help you learn to the best of your ability is the smartest thing to do.
If you do not do well in a subject does that determine your self worth? No. It means some subjects are harder than others. The only aspect of school that matters is, did you try your best? If the answer is yes that is all you can ask of yourself. If the answer is no, then there is work to be done. We all have flaws and make mistakes. That is human nature. How we reconcile that mistake is what is important.
